1. What options do I have when signing up with you?
There are three options when signing up with ArisHost:
- You can register a new domain name and have ArisHost as your registrar. The cost associated with this is $30/year for the domain name. Included is our FREE package.
- You can transfer an existing domain name to ArisHost, and have us be your registrar. The cost associated with this is also $30/year for the domain name. Included is our FREE package. Please note there are NO one-time fees associated with transferring to ArisHost.
- You can stay at your existing registrar, and use ArisHost's Web Hosting and Email package (See below)
2. I like my current registrar, how do I use ArisHost's Web Hosting features?
You can use ArisHost's Web Hosting and Email package for the same low price of $30/year. All you have
to do is select the "Just Web Hosting Service" button on the join page. After you have entered all
necessary information, uploaded your website, and are ready to be hosted at ArisHost, have your current
registrar point your domain's nameservers to:
DNS1.ARISHOST.COM 206.112.88.21
DNS2.ARISHOST.COM 206.112.88.44
3. How do I change my customer information such as name and address?
Your contact information can be changed by logging into the Control Panel and selecting "Account Info".
From there, you can click on "Owner Contact " for changing the owner information, "Administrative Contact"
for changing the Administrative information and "Billing Contact" for changing the billing information.
You will be presented with a screen that will allow you to change all the information you may need to.
Make sure that you keep this information current, as ArisHost makes use of this information for important
communications.
4. How long will it take for my account to be activated?
Your account will be activated and ready for upload within 2-3 minutes of completion of the join page.
Your domain registration or transfer request will be submitted within five minutes of your being billed.
It may take as long as 24-72 hours before a new registration is complete and your website viewable
from our servers throughout the world (this delay is caused by root nameserver and DNS propagation).
The transfer process may take as long as 7-10 days depending on circumstances beyond our control.
5. Do I have control over my domain name?
Yes, you have full control over your domain name. If you register or transfer a domain name through us,
YOU are the sole owner of it. If you'd like to change your contact information, you can do so in the
Control Panel. If your DNS is already set up on another nameserver that you'd like to use instead of
ours, please send us the request to make the change and we will make it for you right away.
6. I want to register a domain name. However, I don't need the free Web Hosting package at the moment. I am looking for some sort of domain parking. Will I still have to pay $30 for that?
Yes, the $30 fee is for the domain registration, and is good for one year. The free Web Hosting services come
free with the domain registration. If you choose not to utilize the Web Hosting, then essentially you are
"parking" your domain with us.
7. What if my domain name is not yet expired and I want to use your services, are there any discounts?
If you are transferring your domain name to us, there is a $30 charge that will give you access to our
free services for one year. To continue to take advantage of our free services, you must continue to
keep your domain name registered with us.

8. What happens to domain names when they expire?
Expired domains will be held at Tucows/Opensrs for a grace period defined by the registry.
For com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .name, and .cc the grace period is 40 days.
For .ca it is 30 days.
For tv it is 55 days.
For .cn it 10 days.
.uk domains are held until the 25th day of the month after they expire.
There are no grace periods for de domains. They are deleted on the day after the expiration date.
During the grace period all associated services will cease working until the name is renewed (if and when this happens). As well, name server/DNS changes will not be possible.
If a renewal is not made by the end of the grace period the domains will sent to the registry for deletion and returned to the available pool. Deletion at the registry level can take 1 to 10 days.
Please note, .com and .net registrations will enter into a new REDEMPTIONPERIOD state and will be held at VeriSign (the .com & .net registry) for an additional 30 days. During the Redemption Period it is still possible to recover the domain name and have it renewed. For information on process please contact your Reseller directly.
9. ArisHost boasts of a banner-free site if we register our domain with you. However, if we just want to transfer our existing domain name provided all conditions were met, can we still take advantage of your ad-free Web Hosting features? Is there any catch?
Yes, a domain name that is transferred to us is also eligible for our free Web Hosting services. There is a $30 charge for each domain name transfer, which will give your domain name one year of registration, and access to our FREE Web Hosting and Email services.
10. How do I change my Account or Domain Password?
Go to the Control Panel and select the "Change Password" option.
11. Can I password protect certain portions of my web site?
Yes. To do this, go to the Control Panel and select "Folder Protection".

We value your input and we are taking into consideration any and all suggestions and comments on how
to improve the control panel. We are currently working on the control panel to improve its design,
features and usability so that our customers can best manage their accounts. For specific inquiries

13. What does REDEMPTIONPERIOD or PENDING DELETE RESTORABLE mean?
A domain with status: REDEMPTIONPERIOD (or PENDING DELETE RESTORABLE for .info domains) has expired and was not properly renewed for at least 40 days. Domains which are not renewed are deleted, after which point the Registry will hold the domain in the REDEMPTIONPERIOD/PENDING DELETE RESTORABLE for 30 days.
Attempts would have been made to contact the Email addresses on the domain's registration record about the domain's expiration before it was actually expired. Renewal reminders and other important information are sent to these contacts, and having an invalid email address or aggressive SPAM filters in place will prevent delivery of these messages.
The Registry-imposed REDEMPTIONPERIOD/PENDING DELETE RESTORABLE lasts for 30 days, and it is still possible to recover a domain in this state. The domain can only be redeemed by the original owner of the domain listed on the WHOIS prior to the deletion. Redeeming a domain is more time consuming and complicated than if the domain was "renewed" normally during the first 40 days of expiration. The Reseller (us) facilitates its recovery, and so you should contact them to begin this process.
They have to pay for domain renewal $30/year PLUS penalty fee of $80 = $110 (total)
