Step by Step E-mail Configuration

Outlook Express Mail 2000 Configuration

Follow the Step-by-Step procedure to setup your email through Outlook Express. There are numerous settings that really come down to personal preference and tweaking, but we can show you how to set the program up to send and receive mail.

1. First click on Tools, then Accounts
2. Next click on the Mail tab. If you don't have an existing email account in ArisHost, simply click on the Add button then choose Mail. Then follow the setup wizard.



3. If you already have an existing email account in ArisHost, highlight it then click Properties on the right side. You will see this screen:



4. You will have to enter your information in this box and then click on the Servers tab and you will see this:



5. On this section, simply replace the word yourdomain.com with the domain name you have in ArisHost. And for your account name, enter your whole email address (username@yourdomain.com). Next click on the Connection tab and you will see this:



6. The connection option allows you to select which type of connection you would like to use.
7. After this, press "OK" and you are ready to use Outlook Express.

Outlook '97 Mail Configuration

Follow this set-up information for Outlook '97

1. First Click Tools and Services
2. Now the following screen should come up.



3. Now click Add

4. Now the following screen should come up.



5. Make sure Internet Mail is highlighted before clicking the OK button.
6. Now the following screen should come up.



7. For Full Name put your name.
8. For Email Address put your email address.
9. For Internet Mail Server put your domain name
10. For Account enter your username (your username is your whole email address)
11. For Password type your password and click Ok.
12. Now click Ok on the next two windows then exit out of Outlook. Once you restart it and you can start using the e-mail account that you setup in your Outlook.

Outlook2000 Mail Configuration

1. Open Outlook2000 and on the menu bar click on "Tools".
2. Next, click on "Accounts"
3. To create a New E-mail Account in Outlook 2000, click on "Add" then "Mail"
The next window will be the e-mail wizard. This wizard will assist you in creating a new e-mail account.
4. The first step is to type in your name as you want it to appear on your outgoing e-mails



5. Next: Enter the e-mail address you created in the Control panel.



6. Next: Enter your mail server names: they should be pop.yourdomain.com for POP3 Server and smtp.yourdomain.com for SMTP Server. Simply replace yourdomain.com with the domain name you register in ArisHost.



7. Next: Enter your Account name and password that you created in the Control Panel. Remember that the format for your username is the whole email address (username@yourdomain.com)



8. Next: Choose the connection type to the internet. If you are using a modem, choose the phone line option. If you are connected to a network, choose the LAN option. If you want to connect manually each time, choose the last option.



9. Final Step. Click on "Finish" and you are done. On the next screen click on "close" and then go check for new mail.

Netscape Communicator 4.5+ Mail Configuration

The following information will help you in setting up Netscape Communicator 4.5 and later for email.

1. First, on the menu bar, click on Edit then click on Preferences. When the Preferences box comes up, click on the + sign directly to the left of Mail & Newsgroups. Next, click one time on Identity and you will see this:



2. Next, select Mail Servers in the left hand menu. Click Edit on your right side under Incoming mail servers.



3. Under Server name type pop.yourdomain.com - all in small letters. Simply replace yourdomain.com to whatever your domain name is.



Next select POP3 Server. Type in your username in all small letters under User Name.

NOTE that for Netscape, the format of the username is the whole email address. Use the $ symbol instead of the @ symbol. (ex. username$yourdomain.com)

4. Click OK and then OK again. That's it! Restart Netscape and open the Netscape mail program!

Eudora Lite Configuration

Eudora is a very powerful email client and comes in two versions, Eudora Lite and Pro.

Eudora Lite is available as a free download. Eudora Pro, however, must be purchased. You can get to the setup screen by clicking on Tools and then Options, or possibly Special, then Settings (this varies depending upon which version of Eudora Lite you are using.) The following screen shots are for windows '95, but they will also apply to the other operating systems with a small amount of variance.

Windows 95/98

1. Go to Tools
2. Then Options
3. Then click on Getting Started



POP Account will be your e-mail address and Real Name is your name.

4. Then choose Personal Information your Return Address will be your e-mail address



5. Next choose Hosts. The SMTP is smtp.yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is the domain name you register with ArisHost.



6. Then Checking Mail. Type on the Mail Server pop.yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is the domain name you register with ArisHost.



7. Once you have filled out these fields, you may press the "OK" button. That's it.

Macintosh:

1. Go to Special
2. Then Settings
3. Then Getting Started
4. POP Account will be your e-mail address and Real Name is your name.
5. Then choose Personal Information your Return Address will be your e-mail address.
6. Next choose Hosts the SMTP is smtp.yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is the domain name you register with ArisHost.
7. Then choose Checking Mail. Be sure that Leave Mail on Server is NOT Checked.
8. Once you have filled out these fields, you may press the "OK" button. That's it.

Windows 3.x:

1. Go to Special
2. Then Switches
3. Then click on Getting Started
4. POP Account will be your e-mail address and Real Name is your name.
5. Then choose Personal Information your Return Address will be your e-mail address.
6. Next choose Hosts the SMTP is smtp.yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is the domain name you register with ArisHost.
7. Then Checking Mail. Be sure that Leave Mail on Server is NOT Checked. CHECKED.
8. Once you have filled out these fields, you may press the "OK" button. That's it.

Eudora Pro Configuration

1. First click on Tools and then Options



2. Click Getting Started.



3. Fill up the following information
  • For Real Name type your real name here.
  • For Mail Server type pop.yourdomain.com
    where yourdomain.com is the domain name you register with ArisHost.
  • For Login Name type your complete e-mail address (e.g. john@yourdomain.com)
4. Next click on Checking mail.



5. Check the Save password box if you would like not to type in your password each time you check your mail.

6. Click on Sending Mail:

7. For SMTP Server type smtp.yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is the domain name you register with ArisHost.

8. You are now ready. Just press "OK" and you are finished
